Joshua Manchester

Tmesis, a percussion solo.  My interest in language stemming from studies with Herbert Brun leads to Tmesis, which is the alteration of a word with the insertion of another in between syllables.  Something which might be considered unacceptable license in most correct linguistic grammars, buthas been standard practice for centuries in music, as interpolation of new material into the middle of a theme.

However, tumblr only allows 10 mb uploads, so over half the performance is gone from this excerpt.  the full file can be located at http://www.joshuamanchester.com
